Malcolm Chase (Whittier College 2001)
MPL President of Operations/ Founder

Coach Chase was voted the 2009 Little East Conference Coach Of the Year for the University of Southern Maine. As a certified personal trainer he has worked closely with many Maine high school All Americans and All State players to improve their conditioning and skill level through private lessons and training. He has served as Head Coach for several Maine Select and Maineiax U19 teams supporting Maine athletes to go on to successful college careers. Prior to taking the reigns at USM, Chase coached at Roanoke College (VA) in 2003; and at Connecticut College for two seasons in 2004 and 2005. He has played for the US Indoor Lacrosse Developmental Team and continues to play for the Boston Crabs (ALL) Men’s Club, the box lacrosse team Vermont Voyageurs, and was voted a 2011 Quebec Senior Lacrosse League All Star. 

Lauren Reid (Univ.Maryland/UMASS ’07)
Director of EMPOWER Lacrosse and MPL Girl’s Division Director

A four-year letter winner and high school All-American at Deering HS (1999-2002), Reid went to the University of Maryland for a year, playing on the Terrapins’ squad that advanced to the NCAA Division I semifinals in 2003. Reid later transferred to the University of Massachusetts Amherst and played three seasons with the Minutemen. She is in her fourth year as Women’s Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Southern Maine, voted by her peers Little East Coach Of the Year after winning the LEC tournament and taking the Huskies to their first NCAA tournament in program history.

Kirk Jurgelevich "Coach J" (Adelphi )
MPL Youth/Middle School Division Coach

With 33 years of experience in coaching and having played in over 500 lacrosse games, Coach Jurgelevich is one of the most colorful and decorated lacrosse coaches in the country.  After a stellar career as a four time All America selection at Adelphi University, his jersey #20 was retired at the University.  In 1975 he was a team captain, team most valuable player, and played in the North South All Star Game.  Coach J was inducted in the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1998.  He continued to play for clubs in Long Island and Maine well after his college career, and earned top scoring and MVP honors at elite tournaments and later in the Grandmaster’s division at Lake Placid and the New Brunswick Invitational.  Coach J was always impeccably conditioned as a player, and brought this training to a new level winning the Mr. Maine Bodybuilding title in 1998.

ASHLEY DUREPO - UNH 2009

 

 

Ashley is Assistant Coach for the University of Southern Maine Women's Lacrosse team. Coach Durepo was a key component to the success and first-ever LEC title and NCAA tournament appearance for the Huskies in 2010. Ashley graduated in 2009 from the University of New Hampshire as a midfielder for the Division I Wildcats. For the Wildcats, she received America East All-Academic Team, America East All-Conference 2nd Team, America East All-Rookie Team, and America East Player of the Week honors. A native of Concord, NH and a 2005 graduate of Concord High School, Ashley led the girls' lacrosse team to the NH State Championships in 2002 and 2005. She was also named to the All-State First Team in 2005 and 2003, as well as the Upper New England Team in 2003.
 

Sam Lane (Washington College ’06)

Men’s Lacrosse Division Head Coach

Coach Lane is in his first year as Head Coach at the University of Southern Maine. As a player he was an honorable mention All-Centennial Conference pick in 2006.  In 2006, Lane scored 33 goals, had six assists and picked up 26 ground balls in 19 games.  During his three seasons, Lane played on one Centennial Conference championship team (2003) and three NCAA tournament teams.  The 2004 team reached the NCAA semifinals, and the 2006 squad made it to the quarterfinal round. Prior to moving to Maine in January, Lane managed Fleischer Sport Ski Shop in Steamboat Springs, Colo.  Working alongside former University of North Carolina All-American Neill Redfern, Lane was instrumental in the growth of the Steamboat Springs Youth and High School lacrosse programs.

Tucker Prudden (Quinnipiac ’07)

Men’s Division Head Coach

As a High School All-American lacrosse player at Tabor Academy, Tucker later graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2007 with a degree in Communications. He was also a standout lacrosse player while at Quinnipiac earning all-conference honors in the Great Western Lacrosse League. Tucker began his career as a Local Development Officer with the English Lacrosse Association for a year where he worked hard to promote the sport in the UK. He then returned to the US and accepted an assistant coaching job at New England College where he worked toward his Master’s in Education which he completed in June of 2010.

Alex Marshall (Endicott ’09)

Youth / Middle / High School Coach

 

Coach Marshall was a dominant long stick midfielder for D3 powerhouse Endicott College and an All Commonwealth Coast Conference Selection in 2009. Alex is a Maine product and played high school ball at Marshwood. He continues to dominate his one-on-one matchups playing for the Warpigs of the American Lacrosse League.
